“No saint, no pope, no general, no sultan, has ever had the power that a filmmaker has; the power to talk to hundreds of millions of people for two hours in the dark.”
To kick off the AWAKEN WITH MOVIES series, I’ve chosen ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ as the first movie for it’s not only a great experience for your inner child, but it’s also packed with symbolism!
Join me and Dora on the awakening journey where we get to uncover 7 life lessons 👋🏻
Lesson 1: Nature
The first lesson is to befriend Nature, the animals and the plants.
Nature is all around us, but we’ve gotten out of the habit to honour and appreciate it.
You may lose a lot of connections, relationships and friendships during your spiritual awakening, it’s all part of the process.
If you are feeling isolated and disconnected, that’s precisely when you should reconnect with Nature and begin to view it as a Friend. There are always plants, trees, birds and animals around you expecting your return!
Nature is a natural energy booster. The more time you spent in nature, the more you will feel like yourself!
Lesson 2: Authenticity
The second lesson is be weird, be spontaneous, be authentic.
Our differences make the world a better place and it’s through our authenticity we can connect with one another on a deeper level.
Appreciate what gifts and talents you’ve been given, share them with the world and learn how to co-create with others without having to pretend and hide who you are.
Lesson 3: Friendships
The third lesson is to share the adventure with friends — you’re not meant to do it alone!
You’re going to reach a point in your spiritual awakening journey where you feel alone.
You might be alone in the physical world or worse: be surrounded by people but feel like no one can understand you.
Once again, this is a normal step of the self-growth journey.
As you begin to unlock more of your potential and you are investigating what is possible for you during your life, you will discover that there are 3 types of soul contracts that we all have: Karmic Relationships, Twin Flames and Soulmates
You are never learning alone, but some people make the journey easier, because they understand what we’re going through and they are able to create the space for us to open up authentically.
If you are not surrounded by people who understand you, it’s because you’re getting ready to shift your reality and your surroundings and finally be reunited with your true Soul Tribe.
But don’t underestimate the importance of every person in your life — everyone is there to teach you something.
Lesson 4: Joy
The fourth lesson is that the real treasure is your Inner Light, your JOY ✨
We have all seen stories — and perhaps people from your own life too — that corrupted themselves in the pursuit of money, fame, power and riches.
The wealthiest people are healthy, happy and at peace with themselves.
Let Joy be your guiding light. Follow your heart, it will always lead you to your treasure in the physical world too!
Lesson 5: Knowledge
The fifth lesson is that your calling is connected to restoring ancient knowledge!
In ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ we can follow the journey of her parents who are historians on a mission to restore a missing piece of the ancestral lineage that got lost over the years.
As we begin to look for them (because they go missing), we can see that Dora is being given all the clues and signs she needs to find them and reach the treasure. Only she can do it, because it’s her destiny — because her heart is pure and she will do good with the discovery.
The same goes for you when you receive the call of the Universe and you say YES.
Oh, yes, the Universe will invite you on a journey of your own, too, when you’re ready to step into your calling.
And when you say YES, all the steps and signs will be revealed to you too — just at the right time, no sooner or later than the moment you’re ready to receive them.
Trust the process, trust yourself!
Lesson 6: Trust
The next lesson is that older generations are (mostly) here to protect us.
There are, of course, some generational gaps that the older folks are not meant to understand and experience, because they have had their years of growth, discovery and expansion that got them to change history.
Now it’s your turn!
It’s your turn to challenge the status quo, to propose new ways of doing things, to be a Messenger of Change, because you have the time and the energy to accept missions that will take longer to accomplish — because you have the wisdom and strength to complete them, too.
You will never be given an assignment that you cannot handle. Trust in the vision!
And when the Universe separates you or tells you to move in silence, trust in that too.
Lesson 7: Discernment
The last lesson is one of the most important lessons that you will most certainly learn from experience — the lesson of discernment!
Not every person in your life is a trustworthy person.
Not every friend is a true friend. Some are monitoring spirits or people who want to stop you because they are secretly in a competition with you (something in their Spirit feels threatened by your talents, gifts or Inner Light).
If you feel someone’s energy is off, trust that feeling and take your distance from those connections, because in the long run you’ll realise they were stealing your energy and blocking your growth.
Discernment can “save your life” or rather save years of your life — years that you would have otherwise wasted in doomed relationships, contracts or pursuits.
Sure, every experience teaches us something, but some experiences really are detours that lead nowhere.
The more you master discernment, the better you’ll get at time & energy management.
